About Kompres

Kompres is a lightweight file-compression workspace for people who need smaller PDFs and images without a complicated upload flow.

Kompres is built for a narrow job: helping people reduce file size quickly enough to pass upload limits, send documents, and keep routine workflows moving.

The product is moving toward a practical utility set around PDF and image workflows rather than a broad marketing-style toolbox with dozens of shallow converters.

Why we built Kompres

Kompres started from a common operational problem: a file that looks normal to a human but gets rejected by an email provider, HR portal, procurement form, or school upload system. The goal was not to build a flashy all-in-one utility site. The goal was to make that specific problem easier to solve with less friction.

What Kompres does well

Kompres is designed for routine document and asset workflows: compressing a PDF before submission, making an image lighter for a listing, and checking the before-and-after file size before downloading the result. It is intentionally simple, with visible result metrics and direct links to the legal pages.

What Kompres is not

Kompres is not positioned as a secure document vault, a team workspace, or a replacement for internal handling rules around highly sensitive files. If a document should never pass through a third-party service, it should stay in a local or company-controlled workflow.

How we think about quality

The standard for quality here is practical usefulness. Pages should explain what the tool is for, what the limits are, and what a user should expect from the output. That is why the product text focuses on actual upload scenarios and realistic tradeoffs instead of oversized claims.
